He is credited with establishing Greek rule in the Punjab and Gandhara regions and was among the first Indo-Greek rulers to issue bilingual coins with both Greek and Kharosthi inscriptions OBVERSE: Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ ΑΠΟΛΛΟΔΟΤΟΥ (King Apollodotus Saviour).
